Wood Letters in Malaysia

From RM 30.00. The price comes from the two numbers you enter above: the letter height and the overall width of the whole line of text. Taller letters cost more per metre of text, and a longer line costs more because it is simply more letters. You never have to count the letters yourself — the calculator does it, and the price updates as you type.

Letter height is the cap height of your tallest letter — a capital A measured top to bottom, not the height of the whole block of text. Overall width runs from the left edge of the first letter to the right edge of the last one, spaces included. The diagram above the size fields shows both. Two stacked lines are two order lines, one for each line. As a rule of thumb, 200–400mm letters suit a shopfront fascia read from across the road, and 80–150mm a reception wall.

Six of them. 3mm plywood is the lightest and cheapest — tape it straight onto a wall for an event or a market stall. 5mm plywood shows the layered edge grain that most cafés and studios are actually after. 5mm MDF is dense and perfectly smooth with no grain and no voids, which makes it the best base of the six if the letters are going to be sprayed. 12mm MDF is a solid block letter with a deep painted edge, the one people stand on shelves, mantels and wedding tables. 9mm OSB gives the chipped industrial timber look, left raw or clear-sealed, and no two letters come out the same. 12mm solid rubber wood is real timber rather than a board, with honest grain right through the letter — the premium pick for restaurants, hotels and retail interiors.

Indoor and sheltered positions only, and we would rather say so up front than replace them for you later. Untreated wood moves in Malaysian humidity: plywood delaminates at the edges, MDF swells and goes soft once water gets into it, and even sealed rubber wood will lift and check under direct sun and rain. If you want the warmth of timber on an outdoor shopfront, the honest answer is our wood-look acrylic — light oak or walnut grain running through an acrylic sheet, which looks the part and is completely stable in the weather.

On-site installation in KL and Selangor is one charge per job — one visit fixes every letter in your order, whether it is 3 letters or 30 — starting at RM350 for a ground-floor wall or fascia and stepping up floor by floor, because the higher the sign goes the more access equipment the job needs; above the 5th floor we quote after a site survey, since that means a boom lift or a gondola and a permit from the building. Ordering two lines of text or several letter products? Still one visit and one charge — at the highest floor among them. Doing it yourself instead? Add the full-size paper template — tape it up, mark the holes through it, and every letter lands level and evenly spaced first time.
