A printed magnetic sticker in Malaysia costs RM7.00 per square foot. A pair of 600 × 400 mm car door magnets with rounded corners is RM36.14, 100 fridge magnets at 70 × 100 mm are RM50.35 after the quantity discount, and an A4 writable whiteboard magnet with a marker pen is RM8.05. They are printed on a flexible 500 micron magnetic sheet, cut to your size, and they hold on flat steel and lift off with no glue residue.

Car door magnets: sizes, and how to keep them on

A car door magnet turns a personal car into a work car on weekdays and back again on Sunday — a common choice for property agents, tutors, home bakers, cleaners and aircond technicians. Nothing is stuck to the paint, and the same pair moves to another car.
Sizes. The magnetic sheet prints off a 620 mm roll, so one side of a magnet must be 620 mm or less; the other side can be up to 3000 mm. A car door magnet is often between 450 × 300 mm (RM20.34 a pair) and 600 × 400 mm (RM36.14 a pair) — smaller than a vinyl door decal, because it has to sit on the flattest part of the door. A long, low 900 × 300 mm magnet is RM40.66 a pair, where the panel is flat enough to take it. Measure the flat part of the door, away from the handle, the trim lines and any curve: a magnet only holds where it lies completely flat.
Keeping it on. A car magnet is held by magnetism, not glue, so it is only as secure as the fit:
- Choose rounded corners. They are free, and a square corner is where wind gets under a magnet and peels it away, which is why rounded corners are the usual finish for vehicle door magnets.
- Put it on a clean, dry, flat steel panel. Dirt under the magnet weakens the hold and scratches the paint.
- Check the edges are flat before every drive, and take it off before a car wash or a long highway trip.
- Lift it off and wipe both the magnet and the panel regularly, so moisture and grit do not sit underneath against the paint.
Where it will not stick. Aluminium, most stainless steel, fibreglass and plastic bumpers are not magnetic. If a fridge magnet will not hold on the panel, a car magnet will not either; test with one before ordering. On a car with non-steel doors, use a vinyl car sticker instead.
Gloss lamination (RM5.18 per 600 × 400 mm magnet) adds a scratch- and UV-resistant layer over the print, which is worth it on a magnet that lives outdoors on a car every day.
Fridge magnets and business card magnets

A printed fridge magnet is a small advert that stays on the fridge long after a flyer is thrown away: a clinic's number, a food delivery menu, a property agent's contact, a wedding save-the-date. The two common sizes:
| Pieces | 70 × 100 mm | 90 × 54 mm (business card) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | RM0.53 | RM0.37 |
| 100 | RM50.35 (5% off) | RM35.15 (5% off) |
| 500 | RM238.50 (10% off) | RM166.50 (10% off) |
Quantity discounts are automatic on one design: 5% from 100 pieces, 10% from 500 and 15% from 2,000. Adding gloss lamination to 100 magnets at 70 × 100 mm takes them from RM50.35 to RM64.60.
Writable whiteboard magnets

With gloss lamination over the print, a magnet becomes writable with a whiteboard marker and wipes clean — a printed weekly planner on the fridge, a job board on a steel cabinet, a price board on a stall, or a duty roster in a factory. An A4 whiteboard magnet with lamination and a marker pen in the parcel is RM8.05; an A1 board-sized one, laminated, is RM48.41 without a marker. A marker is RM2.00 extra on any size.
Square, rounded or die cut

| Cut | What you get | Two 600 × 400 mm magnets | 100 pcs, 70 × 100 mm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square cut | Straight edges at your size | RM36.14 | RM50.35 |
| Rounded corners | Softened corners, free | RM36.14 | RM50.35 |
| Die cut to shape | Cut along your artwork outline | RM81.14 | RM306.85 |
Die cutting is priced as one cutline setup for the whole order plus the length of the cut on each piece, so a shaped magnet costs far more at small sizes: 100 die-cut fridge magnets are about six times the price of 100 rectangles. A round-looking design printed on a rounded-corner rectangle is the budget route.
Artwork for magnets

- Design at the finished size in CMYK with 3 mm bleed and keep text a few millimetres inside the edge. See how to prepare artwork.
- For a car magnet, design for a moving car: the business name, what you do and one phone number, in type large enough to read from the next lane.
- For a fridge magnet, small text is fine — it is read from arm's length, so work at 300 dpi at final size.
- Check colours against a printed chart, not your screen. See the colour guide.
Tandaku prints, cuts and ships the magnets; fitting is not included. Every file is checked before printing, and magnets are ready in 5 working days from artwork approval, or the next working day with Express. See urgent printing.
FAQ
How much does a magnetic sticker cost in Malaysia?
RM7.00 per square foot of printed magnetic sheet. At Tandaku a pair of 600 × 400 mm car door magnets is RM36.14, 100 fridge magnets at 70 × 100 mm are RM50.35 after the 5% quantity discount, and an A4 laminated whiteboard magnet with a marker is RM8.05.
What size should a car door magnet be?
A car door magnet is often between 450 × 300 mm and 600 × 400 mm. One side must be 620 mm or less, and the magnet should sit completely flat on the panel, away from handles, trim lines and curves.
Will a car magnet fall off on the highway?
The hold depends on the fit: a flat, clean steel panel and rounded corners. A magnet usually comes off when a corner lifts, when dirt is trapped underneath, or when it sits on a curve. Check the edges before every drive, and take it off for long highway trips and car washes.
Does a car magnet damage the paint?
Not when it is looked after. Lift it off and wipe both the magnet and the panel regularly so moisture and grit do not sit underneath, and never slide it across the paint.
Why won't my magnet stick to the car?
The panel is probably not steel. Aluminium, most stainless steel, fibreglass and plastic parts are not magnetic. Test the panel with a household fridge magnet, and use a vinyl sticker where a magnet will not hold.
Can I write on a magnetic sticker?
Yes, with gloss lamination. The laminate takes a whiteboard marker and wipes clean, which turns an A4 or A1 magnet into a reusable planner or job board.
