Standard Banner Sizes in Malaysia (ft, cm and Prices)

What size should a banner be? The two most common in Malaysia are 3 x 6 ft for shopfront promotions and roadside advertising, and 4 x 8 ft for event backdrops and site hoarding. But banners are cut to order, so the honest answer is whatever fits your space — the price follows the area, not a fixed size list.

Which size for which job

A shopfront banner, a stage backdrop and a roadside banner

Use Typical size Why
Shopfront promo 3 x 6 ft Reads clearly from across a two-lane road
Roadside bunting run 2 x 5 ft Cheap enough to print in bulk along a route
Event backdrop 8 x 8 ft or 10 x 8 ft Fits a standard truss or backdrop frame
Site hoarding panel 4 x 8 ft Matches the standard board and frame module
Fence / scaffolding wrap 10 x 3 ft and up Long horizontal runs; use mesh so wind passes through
Shop fascia banner face Cut to the frame Measure the frame opening, not the shopfront

How large can a banner be printed?

Up to 3 metres wide and 10 metres long as a single seamless piece. Anything wider than 3 m is produced as multiple panels designed to sit side by side, so plan the artwork with the joins in mind. For very long runs, add eyelets every 2-3 ft rather than only at the corners, so wind load spreads along the edge instead of tearing at four points.

How to measure before you order

  1. Measure the opening, not the wall. For a banner going into a frame, measure the frame's inside dimensions and order to that.
  2. Decide the finishing first. Pole pockets and fold-back edges consume material beyond your stated size, so they change the sheet we actually produce.
  3. Think about wind. Anything on a fence, a rooftop or above the first floor should be mesh. A solid banner in an exposed spot acts like a sail.
  4. Check the viewing distance. The rough rule is one inch of letter height for every 10 ft of reading distance — a banner read from 60 ft needs roughly 6-inch lettering.

FAQ

What is the most common banner size in Malaysia?

3 x 6 ft is the usual shopfront and roadside promotional banner, at RM35.99 in 340gsm flex. For event backdrops and construction hoarding, 4 x 8 ft is more common, at RM63.99. Neither is a fixed standard — banners are cut to whatever size you enter.

How much does a 4 x 8 ft banner cost?

RM63.99 in standard 340gsm flex, RM95.99 in premium 510gsm, and RM95.99 in mesh. All three include four corner eyelets at no extra charge. The price appears the moment you enter the size, with no quotation step.

What is the biggest banner you can print?

3 metres wide by 10 metres long in a single seamless piece. Larger coverage is produced as multiple panels intended to hang side by side. For spans that long, choose eyelets every 2-3 ft so the load is distributed along the edge.

What is the difference between 340gsm and 510gsm banner?

340gsm at RM2.00 per square foot is the everyday outdoor banner, right for campaigns lasting weeks to a few months. 510gsm at RM3.00 is thicker, hangs flatter, resists stretching at the eyelets and holds colour longer — worth it for banners staying up for months.

Are eyelets included in the banner price?

Yes, four corner eyelets are included free. You can upgrade to eyelets every 2-3 ft for long spans, add rope, or choose pole pockets or a fold-back edge instead. Each option shows its own price as you select it.
