The panel states NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY, SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK in English, with TIADA PENYELAMAT BERTUGAS, BERENANG ATAS RISIKO SENDIRI in Bahasa Malaysia. A Chinese version (无救生员值班) is available alone or combined with BM and English.
Almost every residential pool in Malaysia runs without a lifeguard, so this notice is standard at condominium, apartment and serviced-residence pools, as well as at homestays, small hotels, gyms and private clubs. Joint management bodies and management corporations display it as part of their house rules under the Strata Management Act 2013 by-laws, and it is usually fixed at the pool entrance and at each end of the deck.
