No Hot Work Without Permit

This sign reads NO HOT WORK WITHOUT PERMIT – WELDING · CUTTING · GRINDING in English and DILARANG KERJA PANAS TANPA PERMIT – KIMPALAN · PEMOTONGAN · PENCANAIAN in Bahasa Malaysia, with a match-and-flame symbol. A Chinese version is also available. Post it at plant entrances, tank farms, chemical stores, warehouses holding flammable goods, shipyards and construction sites that run a hot work permit system. Safety officers in Malaysia use it to back up their permit-to-work procedure under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, so contractors know that no sparks or open flame are allowed until a permit is signed and a fire watch is in place.
