About this sign
This green strip sign reads PUSH BAR TO OPEN in English and TOLAK PALANG UNTUK BUKA in Bahasa Malaysia, with a Chinese version (推杆开门) available on its own or with the other two languages. The push-bar pictogram shows exactly how the door releases.
It is fixed on or just above the panic bar of fire exit and emergency doors in shopping malls, cinemas, office towers, factories, warehouses, hotels, schools, hospitals and stadiums across Malaysia. Panic hardware is required on many escape doors under the UBBL, and Bomba fire certificate inspections expect exits to be clearly marked and operable without a key.
Default size is 300×100mm, a landscape strip that fits across the door at bar height; other sizes are available. PVC foam board 5mm gives a rigid, smooth panel for an indoor door, PP hollow board is the budget option, and Tandaku Colourfit EG steel sheet 0.5mm is the long-life choice for an external fire escape door in the weather.
